Our Visits to Mary

While we honor Our Lady’s Visitation to her relative Elizabeth today, we can think about our own visits to Our Lady each day and throughout our lives – in prayer, by going to her special shrines (something I am doing presently), and certainly in our service to others as well.

One of the hundreds of “Madonnelle” – wayside shrines to Our Lady attached to buildings – in the city of Rome.

In the city of Rome one does not have to go far to find a wayside shrine to the Blessed Mother – lovingly called “Madonnelle” (an endearing term for “Madonnas”) by the Italians. The above-pictured one is on the famous market square, Campo de’ Fiori.
