Bus Station Shrines

There are devotional shrines in many places we (gringos) might not expect, here in Mexico. One such place where they ate often found is bus stations.

Here is the main one that greeted us when we arrived in Puebla on Friday:

A little blurry – cell phone photo.

And here is the one in the waiting area for our departure, this afternoon:

A tad smaller...

These are really places of prayer. When we arrived, a woman was praying in the “welcome” shrine space. And I noted many tokens left in the smaller “departure” space – photos of loved ones, rosaries, etc.

The train station in Rome does not have any shrine! Shock!!

It would be awesome to have randomly placed shrines around town.
