San Miguel de Allende

I’m here in San Miguel de Allende today, about an hour from Querétaro, visiting a priest friend. San Miguel has about 10,000 English-speaking residents (from the US and other countries). And it looks like I might be coming back on Sunday to celebrate Mass here.

Here is the interesting neo-gothic church on the main town square:

(Not where I would be celebrating Mass.)

    • I found out that it is actually a small-scale reproduction of the cathedral in Cologne, Germany, based on a photo the architect had seen, built around 1880. In other words, it’s a very “loose” approximation in many respects.

Mexico certainly has some unique churches. Thanks for the tours!
