Who Doesn’t Like Chocolate?

There has long been a tradition of presenting strange and unusual gifts to the Pope – such as this painting of mafioso-looking monsignors admiring a Harley in St. Peter’s Square (not to mention the four real Harleys that accompanied it). I wonder if there is a special grace of office that comes with being Pope, making it easier to feign liking a strange gift?! But maybe I am being cynical.

In any case, surely you’ve seen this image by now, which is making the rounds. I believe the Pope received this gift on Wednesday…

Yes, a chocolate larger-than-life Pope Francis.

It doesn’t look too much like him, but “A for effort” anyhow!
