The Pope, the ‘Presidenta’, & the Undoer of Knots

I came across this wonderful photo from Pope Francis’ recent 3-hour-long lunch meeting with La Presidenta de la Argentina, Cristina Kirchner:

A picture is worth 1,000 words.

When the Pope was Cardinal-Archbishop Jorge Bergoglio of Buenos Aires, he was not exactly best friends with Kirchner, who once rebuked him publicly for not supporting same-sex marriage (which she, a Catholic, was firmly behind, and signed into law). Her (now deceased) husband, who preceded her as president, once called Bergoglio “the leader of the opposition”!

Since Pope Francis’ election, he has met with Kirchner three times, this last meeting having been very extended, and therefore the source of much rumor and speculation about a possible change in her political approach going forward.

Not that their posing for a photograph under the image of Our Lady, Undoer of Knots would in any way contribute to speculation!

May Our Lady, Undoer of Knots obtain the grace of conversion for Kirchner and all Catholic politicians, who bear a grave responsibility before God to rule His people according to His law, even when doing so goes against current fashions, majorities, or interest groups.
