I AM NO LONGER ACCEPTING PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR THIS PARTICULAR OPPORTUNITY – PLEASE DO NOT SEEK TO SEND THEM IN ANOTHER WAY, AS SOME HAVE DONE. I will pray for all prayer intention requests that I receive from here on out (through the blog’s generic request form), but they will not be brought to the tombs of the two saints. 4-May-14
Before I came to Rome in the summer of 2011, I took up a large collection of prayer intentions to bring to the tomb of the then-recently-beatified Pope John Paul II. Here is a photo of the stack of prayers that I left near his tomb in September of 2011:
Now that both Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII have been canonized I would like to do something similar. If you have any special prayer intentions that you would like me to bring to their tombs, please fill out the form below.
Please, IT IS NECESSARY THAT YOU BE CONCISE. I do not need “the rest of the story” – God and his saints know what you and your loved ones need and all that everyone has been through. Here are some sample intentions with made-up names, to give you an idea of what I mean by “concise“:
- For John Doe, who has bone cancer
- For the conversion of Suzy Pagan
- That Joe Bachelor may find a good Catholic wife
- That Jane Public may get a decent job
I will leave this post at the top of the blog for a few days. Then, sometime in the next week or so, I will go down to St. Peter’s early one day (before the crowds arrive) to celebrate Mass and then pray for these intentions at both of the saints’ tombs. Please use the sharing buttons below so that others might hear about this and submit their intentions as well.
THANK YOU FOR THE MORE THAN 160 REQUESTS FOR PRAYER THAT YOU SUBMITTED. I HOPE TO BRING THEM TO ST. PETER’S WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. WILL POST MORE INFORMATION HERE WHEN I DO.
