My classmate and friend, Fr. Rick Chenault, Vocation Director for the Birmingham Diocese, has just posted this video on Youtube inviting everyone to a “Family Vocation Day” at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Birmingham. Take a look!
More information on the Vocation Day, which will be held soon – on May 17 – can be found by downloading this flyer.
This event is free, open to everyone, includes lunch, will feature various priests and sisters from the diocese and beyond, not to mention many great families, there will be Holy Mass, confessions will be heard… and, basically, you really have no excuse for not going if you live anywhere near Birmingham! (That means, within 3-4 hours’ drive – FYI!)
Registration is on this page.
“But I already have my vocation!”, you say. A likely excuse. Your witness is needed to inspire others in responding to God’s call – plus, there will be many great and edifying talks and other things happening there, so you will be glad you went, even if you won’t know until the Last Judgment how your presence there made a positive difference! So there is both instant gratification and future reward – I love it!
