Over, But…

The sisters whom I recently visited sang a hymn to Mary in front of this statue of Our Lady of Lourdes in their garden each evening during the month of May.

The month of May, specially dedicated to Our Lady, may have concluded a few days ago, but read what Pope Saint John Paul II had to say about that, back in 1979:

The month of May cannot end; it must continue in our lives, because veneration, love, [and] devotion to Our Lady cannot disappear from our hearts. On the contrary, they must grow and be expressed in a testimony of Christian life, modeled on the example of Mary, “the name of the beautiful flower which I always invoke / morning and evening”, as the poet Dante Alighieri sings (Paradise, XXIII, 88). Remember my post about consecrating your children to Mary: it is always a good time of the year to do so!
