Saint Aloysius

This afternoon I prayed for you all at the tomb of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, whose feast we celebrate today. His tomb is in the great church of St. Ignatius, a few blocks from where I live. Here is a photo of his tomb that I took last year (today it had a huge flower arrangement right in front of it):

Look at all that Lapis Lazuli

Here is a wider shot of the altar of his tomb, which takes up the entire right transept of the Church (photo from today):

His tomb is there under the altar.

And, for good measure, the ceiling of the church (photographed today):

One Response to Saint Aloysius

  1. Brian E. Breslin says:

A great Jesuit! And namesake of a son, a brother, an Aunt’s religious name, a sister-in-law’s religious name, and father and brother in-law. Great family name on both sides!
