An Apropos Prayer

In light of Friday’s tragic and disastrous Supreme Court ruling, this Sunday’s Collect (opening prayer) is quite fitting:

O God, who through the grace of adoption
chose us to be children of light,
grant, we pray,
that we may not be wrapped in the darkness of error
but always be seen to stand in the bright light of truth.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

My homily from this Sunday can be downloaded on this page.

  1. question Father,do you think we should leave WP given their support of the SCOTUS ruling.or would that be just a small dent in a huge problem? your thoughts appreciated.

Father Jerabek — I am behind on emails and just saw this post. I actually gasped a little when I first heard “that we may not be wrapped in the darkness of error” so soon after the decision. Thanks be to God that our Church will prevail and the gates of hell will not. Thank you for posting this.
