I had a good conversation tonight with one of the several police officers who regularly help us here at the Cathedral of St. Paul. Many of these men are quite impressive: their lives are truly on the line daily in the work they do around town. With violent crime, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the other bad stuff that goes down here and there, they truly risk all to keep us safe.
It occurred to me how much we need to pray for them. I will soon distribute a prayer card for that purpose. For now, consider saying this adapted version of the St. Michael prayer for our Law Enforcement Officers:
St. Michael the Archangel, defend them in battle. Be their protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host: by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
St. Michael, watch over and protect our LEOs!
